Missouri law states a person who has pleaded guilty to or has been found guilty of four or more intoxication-related traffic offenses is labelled a “Chronic Offender”. Often times these convictions lead to significant loss of driving privilege, requirement to submit to continuous alcohol monitoring and long prison sentences.
This is what a local woman is facing after pleading guilty to her fifth DWI charge. The 49 year old woman pleaded guilty to a DWI chronic offender charge in St. Louis County Circuit Court on Monday and will be sentenced Jan. 23.
She was pulled over at 1:27 a.m. for speeding when the officer noticed “bloodshot and glassy eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcohol on her breath.” The woman refused a breath test. After getting a warrant, a blood test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent.
Chronic Offender charges are very serious and required a serious defense. Bold and Aggressive attorneys like John Schleiffarth of JCS Law in Webster Groves can effectively fight charges like these. The law in these cases is very specific and even scientific. If you or a loved one is facing similar charges, don’t settle for prison, fight back.
